Tissue Bank’s pet donor scheme. Dog and cat donation
operates to the same ethical and operational standards
as human organ and tissue donation programmes, such as
those run by the NHS. Donation of a pet after death can
help other pets in need. We operate a donor card scheme

Aireworth
Vets had a photographer in today to take “action
shots” to put on their website/facebook page etc. They
asked if we could provide some “actors”. Calvin and
Mercury were chosen for their talents in this respect.
It has to be said that Mercury behaved impeccably,
Calvin had an attack of stage fright in the car but
recovered his composure for the photographs. However, he
did try and do a runner when it was all over.

Holidays |
Recently one of our
fosterers was placing her own cats at The Springs
Cattery in Eldwick for a couple of weekends away, and as
all our other fosterers are full to bursting her foster
cat, Darryl (or Big D as he is affectionately known),
was also placed at The Springs. We would like to thank
the new owners (Paul and Ros, and their daughter
Jennifer) of the The Springs for the amazing care and
attention they gave to Big D - he loves his cuddles and
likes to be as close to you as he possibly can, so it
was wonderful for him to have so much attention during
his stay. He also needs tablets twice a day so it was
great to know he was in good hands to have his

Christmas Fair, Central
Hall, Alice street, Keighley. Home made cakes, buns and
other yummy things, handmade crafts and of course our
2012 calendar. Rotten whether, poor turnout, but great
baking from our team raised us a whooping £150.50
on our cake stall. Well done bakers ...... Thanks to the
ladies who manned the stall and a big thank you to those
that came along and bought.

Thornton, Selling our 2012 calendar, lovely stocking
fillers for Christmas, children's books, toys, jigsaws
and much more raising us £57.50

with a wonderful £164.90 raised from our stall

Jade and Lauren Feather
holding two Keighley Cat Care foster kittens Lauren aged
eleven and Jade, nine are both cat lovers and like
nothing better than to help their Grandma, Pauline
Hewitt, look after the cats and kittens she is fostering
for Keighley Cat Care. Not only do they love to do this
they have helped with the fund raising too. Every month
vet bills seem to get higher as the Charity strives to
help more abandoned, unwanted and stray cats and
kittens. Therefore, fund raising is always high on the
list of things to do. Lauren and Jade Feather along with
their friends Ella Gill, Luke Dent and Lucy, Louisa, and
Alissa Puntillo arranged a table top sale near their
home at the end of September. They organised it all
themselves, from making posters to advertise the event,
collecting things to sell and manning the stall. They
raised a wonderful £26.00. No mean feat in these
recession-hit times. Their hard work and enthusiasm is
greatly appreciated by everyone at Keighley Cat Care. If
anyone would like to donate any items we could use for
tombolas, table top sales etc we would be very grateful.

Another smashing day at
Saltaire with a wonderful £109.20 raised to go
to the vets bill. Thanks must go to the people who
manned the stall, the people who went along and bought,
and Sara Daniel for all the baking.

Andy and his bus once
again helping KCC. Andy did the "Nocturnal Heart
of the Pennines" bus rally at Piece Hall in
Halifax on Sunday 30th October. Quite a few people had a
ride on his vintage bus. There is no charge for the
rides but Andy had one of our collecting buckets and
raised £48.80 from his very satisfied
passengers. Well done that lad.

Andy, who is married to
one of our volunteers, owns a vintage bus (see
photo kindly provided by Graham Crawshaw).
This weekend he did a rally at Skipton/Bolton Abbey.
Some of the buses did trips between the two places for
those enthusiasts wishing to ride on the old buses.
There is no charge for these trips but Andy put one of
KCC's collecting buckets on his bus and raised £46.89.
Given the appalling weather we think that's pretty good.

Keighley
Show 2011. Weather a tad dull but the
rain held off, attendance seemed low but we managed to
raise £442, Tina, our ace raffle ticket seller did a sterling
job, great cakes baked by Sara and a great bunch of
girls manning the stall. Thanks to all who bought from
us and made donations, thanks to those that provided
goods for us to raffle and sell.

Stall at West Lane
Methodist Hall, Haworth. Haworth Cat Rescue very
kindly invited us to have a stall. Despite rotten
weather we had a really good day and raised a wonderful £134.60

Today we received a very
unexpected donation of £320 form Julie Leach who used Give
As You Earn to do it. It is people like Julie
who make it possible for us to continue our work, and
our thanks and gratitude for such generosity.

Show 2011 |
What a great day for us at
Bingley show, raising £302.65, £48 of which was raised
from the raffle. Ist prize a stone ornament
by Bronte
Stone who kindly donated a cat and
kitten garden ornament. 2nd prize a cake made by
"I'll Make Your Cake". 3rd prize a bottle of
wine that had been won by one of our volunteers Angela
who came 3rd in the Bingley Show Trail Race. Hair embroidery
which we had never done before proved to be a hit. All
the girls were totally whacked after such a busy day,
but boy do we feel proud of them.

What a day, gorgeous sunshine, wonderful people
and great entertainment. The
usually KCC team in attendance with the new addition of
Tina who we hope we have not put off altogether. We did
a wonderful trade on the tombola including the takings
from that and some of the goodies including our specialty Sara
Daniel's
cakes,
we made a grand total of £259.05,
a great success. Thank you to all who came along and
said hello, it is only with your support that we can
continue saving kitties. |

We
are VERY grateful to Trish
who has given us some wonderful high quality
things for our stalls and events, wonderful, many
thanks. Later she sent us an email, we would like to
share a section of it with you: "Thank you for inviting
us into your home on Friday. It felt like a little piece
of heaven I am sure all your cats feel that way too. You
lifted my spirits and as promised I will keep a box
going with unwanted bits & pieces and will be
pestering all my friends for their cast offs." |

place in our 2012 calendar have now been chosen. But fear not, many more of
the photo entries will also appear throughout the
calendar as smaller pictures.
If the calendar is a success we will be doing this
again for 2013, so get taking those pictures now ready
to enter. For the best chance of getting your photo
entries in the calendar get taking some photos which
have some cues for each season, and take a look at the
2012 winners for an idea of the type of style and
composition we like.

Tombola
Paws for Pet Supplies, Crosshills. |
Our
fundraising day at Paws for Pet Supplies was a run away
success. We made £78.20 in a very busy three hours. We
also spoke to some wonderful people who came to
support us and also a family who wanted to sponsor one
of our long-stay cats. The kittens we brought stole the
show and were certainly a crowd-puller. The weather was
perfect and Abi kept us well supplied with refreshments.
